Insurance Case Study
Client Profile
The Allstate Corporation is the nation’s largest publicly held personal lines insurer. A Fortune 100 company, with $157.5 billion in assets, Allstate sells 13 major lines of insurance, including auto, property, life and commercial. Allstate also offers retirement and investment products and banking services. Allstate is widely known through the “You’re In Good Hands With Allstate®” slogan. Allstate was founded in 1931 and became a publicly traded company in 1993.
Client Challenges
- Use of Ad Slicks – Allstate wanted more control over the final ads published by its agents. Ad slicks were not giving them the desired results because the publications had control over rescaling and adding agent information to the ads. Often, the final ad seen in the publication was not what was expected from the ad slick.
- Complexity of the system necessary – Allstate operates across the United States and employs 14,800 agents. Their ads must include legal disclaimers that comply with each state’s specific requirements and in doing so require the system to handle multiple dependencies when determining what ads are available to each agent. Additionally, offers vary from state to state and the system must be able to provide the 6,500+ registered users with the appropriate options for their area of operation.
- Accommodation of TV/Radio and Internet Banner items – Allstate also wanted to provide it’s agents with television and radio ads through their site. Internet banners are also available on the site for ordering, in addition to their print ads.
BrandMuscle's Solution
- Use of the BrandBuilder® solution – Using the BrandBuilder® solution gives Allstate the desired control over the ads produced by their agents. Each agent is able to login to the online system to create ads that follow corporate brand standards while allowing local customization. The system makes the process of ad creation and co-op reimbursement more efficient. For example, to ease ad creation, the system automatically populates the appropriate agent information and photo into the chosen ad. To simplify co-op reimbursement, ads created on the site are co-op reimbursable. When finished creating the ad, they can then forward it on immediately to the publication as a print ready digital file. A newspaper database is also available to agents to search – it provides information (including mechanical ad sizes) on 4,000+ publications across the country.
- Creation of the Allstate system – BrandMuscle built a system for Allstate that was specifically designed to allow for and manage their complex needs.
- • TV, Radio and Internet Banners available via site – BrandMuscle provides agents with the ability to preview and order television, radio ads and internet banners through Allstate’s vendor on the site.
Results
- Increased productivity for Allstate – Allstate’s corporate marketing and co-op departments have become more efficient with the help of the BrandBuilder® solution.
- High volume usage – The Allstate site averages 1,000+ users each month and these users create 3,000+ ads on an average monthly basis.
