Slowly but surely, marketers have warmed up to the idea of Snapchat, and with 7+ Billion video views and more than 100 million daily active Snapchatters, it’s about time – and it’s not just for us millennials anymore.Snapchat is associated with friendship and connections, so it’s a personal marketing tool that allows followers to feel like they’re “on the inside”, seeing behind-the-scenes content and making viewers feel like they’re a part of the business. Now, Snapchat has added one more way that brands can communicate their message that has real implications on the local level: geofilters.

Perfect for local marketing, brands anywhere within the U.S., U.K. and Canada can create and customize geofilters for as little as $5 a day (in reality, it’s closer to $15 a day after we tested). After it goes live, Snapchat will send you an email with metrics on your geofilter including views and uses. Then: voila, you have a simple, fun, customized and targeted way to interact with your audience.

For a step-by-step guide to creating a geofilter for your brand, check out Marketing Land’s walk-through explanation.

We tested it out in our offices in Cleveland, Chicago an Austin office, and here’s what we came up with:
