A leading global financial management firm, with assets of $1 trillion and operations in more than 50 countries, used an overly complicated system to manage the print and fulfillment of its collateral materials. The firm uses what’s known as dynamic kitting, which prints personalized thank you and apology cards on-demand and pairs them with branded gifts in hand-packed boxes, and sends them to clients on the behalf of banks’ branch managers. Dynamic kitting is not as simple as pick and pack. The multistep print and fulfillment process is time-consuming, highly customized, and subject to errors. Ordering kits through the firm’s existing system was inefficient, so the firm wanted to consolidate and optimize their lending group’s print and fulfillment operations, while securing improved dedicated support and better pricing.
Finance is highly regulated, so security and attention to detail is important to them. Therefore, this firm needed a partner who offered not only strong print capabilities and experience managing home finance-related print collateral, but also offered secure web-enabled solutions for online ordering and design.
As the firm’s print and fulfillment partner for over three years, BrandMuscle developed a plan to relocate the lending group’s inventory from their existing warehouse to BrandMuscle’s Chicago fulfillment center in time for the busy home lending season. BrandMuscle fulfilled thousands of orders monthly and shipped all orders within three business days, five days a week — often one hundred orders per day.
Rather than simply picking SKUS from a shelf from a box, dynamic kitting requires that BrandMuscle print a personalized card for each individual recipient and combine that with promotional item SKUS that go off the rack and into the package, on behalf the branch manager. There are very few companies pairing a printed piece with variable data in a package with a fulfillment piece the way BrandMuscle does for this client. BrandMuscle’s multi-step process of reviewing print asset quality helps make sure orders are accurate before they leave our warehouse.
In addition to developing a more efficient model and processes for the firm’s print and fulfillment, we simplified their billing structure and provided savings.
