BrandMuscle Invests in Saepio, Creating a Distinct Leader in the Distributed Local Marketing Industry

BrandMuscle | August 8, 2016

Chicago, IL, August 8, 2016 – Brandmuscle announced today that it will invest in and merge with Saepio Technologies Inc., a leading provider of distributed marketing management software. The combination will make Brandmuscle the largest company in North America focused on distributed marketing with 700 employees and more than 275 clients across virtually every major industry vertical.

Headquartered in Kansas City, Saepio is the creator of Saepio MarketPort, a marketing asset management solution that empowers marketers to plan and execute campaigns across distributed networks ensuring local relevance, brand consistency and speed-to-market. MarketPort complements Brandmuscle’s current local marketing offerings to create the largest and most comprehensive suite of software and services to support global brands that sell through distributed networks of dealers, agents and franchisees.

Saepio will continue operating from their Kansas City office under the leadership of Mark Hunter and other members of the existing senior management team. Hunter will assume the role of Brandmuscle’s Executive Vice President of Operations and will report to Philip Alexander, Brandmuscle’s Chief Executive Officer, who is based out of the company’s Chicago headquarters.

“By joining Brandmuscle, we’re able to deliver additional capabilities and value to our clients, increase our market presence and expand our geographic footprint,” said Hunter. “This is a major win for our clients who want a unified partner for managing local media, digital and co-op programs.”

Through the merger, Brandmuscle gains access to the Saepio MarketPort platform that is used by more than 100 leading brands with a focus on healthcare, automotive, retail, restaurants and more. The product is complementary to Brandmuscle’s BrandBuilder® solution, both of which will continue to be fully supported and available for new customers, based on their specific needs.

“We’re very excited to welcome Saepio and its clients to the Brandmuscle family. Mark and his entire team have developed great client relationships, trusted technology and strategic expertise among distributed marketers that has pushed our entire industry forward,” said Alexander. “We’re also impressed by the momentum Saepio has built in the healthcare sector and look forward to expansion within the category. We’ll continue to invest in the MarketPort platform, integrating it with Brandmuscle’s evolving suite of local marketing software and services; all aimed at helping our clients grow.”
